A Plumbing Certificate of Compliance (CoC) is the document a licensed plumber issues at completion of plumbing or drainage work to certify that the work complies with AS/NZS 3500 and the relevant state plumbing regulations. Without it, the installation is not legally signed off and an Occupation Certificate may be held.

The form name varies by state. In NSW it is the Combined Notice of Work and Certificate of Compliance lodged via the MyInspections Gateway in metro and regional inspection zones. In Victoria a Compliance Certificate is required for any work where the total value (materials, labour, GST) exceeds $750, lodged with the regulator via VBA360 within 5 days of completion. In Queensland the equivalent document for notifiable work is Form 4, lodged with QBCC within 10 business days of issuing an invoice. Western Australia uses a Notice of Completion lodged with Building and Energy.

For gas work, a separate gas CoC is issued under AS/NZS 5601.1. Both documents are required where the job includes both plumbing and gas, and an OC may be held until both are received.

Also known as: plumbing CoC, plumbing compliance certificate, Notice of Work and Certificate of Compliance (NSW), Compliance Certificate (VIC), Form 4 (QLD), Notice of Completion (WA).
