Tapware
Tapware covers all tap fittings in a residential build: basin mixers, kitchen taps, shower mixers, bath fillers. A classic prime cost (PC) item in building contracts.
Ask Chalkline about this →Tapware is the collective term for all tap fittings installed in a residential build: basin mixers, kitchen taps, shower mixers, bath fillers, laundry taps, and outdoor hose cocks. The term is standard across Australian residential construction and plumbing supply.
Because tapware selections are often deferred until the client finalises design choices, tapware is one of the most common prime cost (PC) items in residential building contracts. The PC allowance covers supply and delivery only; installation is in the plumber’s scope and priced separately in the contract or as a provisional sum.
Also known as: Taps, faucets, mixers (though “faucets” is more common in US English; Aussie industry uses tapware or taps).
