Site-Specific Induction
A site-specific induction covers the hazards, rules and emergency procedures unique to each construction project. Required before any worker starts on site.
Ask Chalkline about this →A site-specific induction is a safety briefing given to every person, including workers, subcontractors, and visitors, before they start work on a particular construction project. Unlike the White Card (general construction induction), which is a once-off national qualification, a site-specific induction is unique to each site and covers the hazards, emergency procedures, and safety rules that apply to that project.
The principal contractor is responsible for conducting site-specific inductions and keeping a record of who has been inducted and when (Safe Work Australia, Workplace Induction for Construction Workplaces, verified 2026-05-10). A returning worker does not need re-induction unless site conditions have materially changed.
Also known as: Site induction, project induction, workplace-specific induction.
