White Card (Construction Induction)
A White Card is the national Construction Induction Card, required for anyone working on an Australian construction site. Covers basic WHS and hazard awareness.
Ask Chalkline about this →A White Card (formally the Construction Induction Card) is the nationally recognised certification that any person must hold before working on a construction site in Australia. It is obtained by completing the General Construction Induction training (unit CPCCWHS1001) through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) (verified 2026-05-08).
The card covers fundamental WHS obligations on construction sites: hazard identification, legislative duties under the Work Health and Safety Act, personal protective equipment, and emergency procedures. It is issued once and does not expire, though individual states may require renewal in certain circumstances. Owner-builders in NSW must hold a valid White Card before any construction work starts on their project.
Also known as: Construction induction card, general construction induction card, blue card (older term used in some states before national harmonisation).
