Lysaght is the dominant Australian metal roofing and wall cladding brand, a BlueScope business and the default specification on most residential metal roofs in Australia. It rolls BlueScope steel (the Zincalume substrate, usually with a Colorbond paint finish) into the country’s most widely used roofing profiles.

The profile range

Lysaght’s roofing profiles are the names most builders reach for by default:

  • Custom Orb: the classic corrugated profile, the heritage default (minimum pitch around 5 degrees).
  • Trimdek: a low square-rib profile, the volume contemporary default (down to about 2 degrees).
  • Klip-Lok: a concealed-fix standing-seam profile, the premium option (down to about 1 degree).
  • Plus Spandek/Spanrib mid-rib profiles and a full range of matching flashings, gutters, and downpipes.

Because Lysaght supplies the whole roof and rainwater system, a builder can detail an entire roof from one brand’s range with matched components.

Where it sits in the market

Lysaght has national distribution and is the most commonly specified metal roofing in Australian housing. Competitors include Stratco, Fielders, and Metroll, which are stronger in particular regions (Stratco in WA, SA, and regional Victoria, for example) and often supply equivalent profiles under their own names. The choice between them is usually driven by regional distribution and price rather than a performance gap, since all roll to the same Australian standards.

Lysaght roofing is installed to AS 1562.1 (metal sheet roof and wall cladding), and its technical resources (installation details, fixing schedules, minimum pitches) are the authoritative source for fixing each profile.

Also known as: Lysaght roofing, BlueScope Lysaght.
