AS 2589 finish levels (Levels 1 to 5)
AS 2589 defines five plasterboard finish levels. Level 4 is typical residential paint-grade. Level 5 is required for critical light or high-gloss finishes.

Specify the level in the contract or scope. “Paint-ready” without a level number is the most common source of plasterboard finish disputes at PCI.
