VJ board
VJ board (vee-joint) is a tongue-and-groove timber lining profile used for feature walls and ceilings in Australian residential builds. Decorative finish only.
Ask Chalkline about this →VJ board (vee-joint board) is a timber lining product with a tongue-and-groove profile that creates a distinctive V-shaped shadow line at each board junction. It is used as a decorative finish for internal walls and ceilings in Australian residential construction, commonly in living areas, bedrooms, rumpus rooms, alfresco ceilings, and as a feature element. The V-groove is formed by chamfering the edges of each board so that when boards are slotted together the joint produces a visible vee.
VJ board is a finish product, not a structural or acoustic lining. When used on walls or ceilings that have fire separation or sound insulation requirements, VJ board is applied over the rated plasterboard assembly, not in place of it. Common timber species include Tasmanian Oak, Blackbutt, Baltic Pine, and hardwood species; engineered and MDF profiles are also available. Widths typically range from 85mm to 185mm and thicknesses from 10mm to 19mm. See internal linings overview for how VJ board fits into the full residential lining selection.
