HMR MDF
HMR MDF is high moisture-resistant medium-density fibreboard, the standard core material for internal doors, cabinetry and linings in wet and humid areas.
Ask Chalkline about this →HMR MDF (High Moisture Resistant Medium Density Fibreboard) is an engineered wood panel manufactured with a water-resistant resin binder, giving it significantly greater resistance to swelling, delamination and mould growth compared to standard MDF in humid or wet environments. Standard MDF swells and degrades when exposed to sustained moisture; HMR MDF is formulated to resist that failure mode.
In residential construction, HMR MDF is specified as the core material for internal doors to bathrooms, laundries, ensuites and other humid spaces where standard hollow core honeycomb would delaminate. It is also widely used for kitchen and bathroom cabinet carcasses, vanity units and wet-area shelving. All composite wood products in Australia, including HMR MDF, must comply with low-formaldehyde emission requirements (E1 grade) under Australian manufacturing standards.
