A Deposited Plan (DP) is a registered survey plan lodged with NSW Land Registry Services under the Real Property Act 1900 (NSW) that legally defines the boundaries, dimensions, and layout of one or more lots of land. Each deposited plan has a unique DP number (e.g., DP 1234567). Together with the lot number, the DP number is the primary identifier for a parcel of land in NSW and appears on the property’s certificate of title, in planning certificates, and in all conveyancing and development documentation.

Builders and owners need the lot and DP number to apply for a Section 10.7 planning certificate, lodge a DA or CDC application, and conduct title searches. The lot and DP number can be found on a recent land title certificate, a rates notice, or by searching the NSW spatial viewer at six.maps.nsw.gov.au.

Also known as: DP, DP number.
