DAP (Development Assessment Panel WA)
What a DAP is in WA: an independent panel that can determine development applications over $2 million on an opt-in basis. Single houses are excluded.
Ask Chalkline about this →A Development Assessment Panel (DAP) is an independent decision-making body in Western Australia that determines development applications for larger or more complex projects. As of March 2024, DAP is an opt-in pathway for eligible applications over $2 million, following amendments introduced by the Planning and Development Amendment Act 2023 (WA). Three panels operate statewide: Metro Inner, Metro Outer, and Regional. Single houses, standard residential additions, and other excluded development types are not eligible for the DAP pathway and are determined by the local government. For most residential builders, the DAP is not relevant unless the project involves a multi-unit development, mixed use, or commercial work above the $2 million threshold.
