Broadloom is carpet manufactured and supplied in wide rolls, typically 3.66 m (12 ft) or 4 m wide, designed to be installed wall-to-wall across a room. It is the standard supply form for residential carpet in Australia, as opposed to carpet tiles (modular squares, typically 500 mm x 500 mm) or rugs (loose-lay).

The width means that many rooms can be carpeted without any seams. Where seams are required (rooms wider than the roll, or L-shapes), the seam is positioned to minimise visibility, ideally running parallel to the primary natural light source.

Rolls can be heavy (100 kg or more for a full roll), requiring two-person handling and a trolley on site.
